Overview Of Service:

At Link Galway Adult Day Services, we provide person centred hospitality training, life skills, and practical work experience for people with an intellectual disability. This builds skills, confidence, and independence at each individual's own pace, while supporting pathways to meaningful employment and community participation.

Canidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals with intellectual disabilities who are motivated to participate fully in our training programme and who are interested in developing skills for greater independence, community involvement, and meaningful employment. All referrals come through the HSE.

Suitable candidates will: 

Show a genuine interest in hospitality training and practical work experience 

Be committed to attending, participating in, and completing agreed training programmes 

Be willing to engage in both practical and classroom-based learning, including areas such as Food Safety, CV preparation, workplace skills, and employment rights 

Have personal goals around community participation, independence, and future employment opportunities 

Be open to developing confidence, communication, teamwork, and workplace skills at their own pace 

Be willing to participate in supported work experience opportunities within our catering business and community café 

Have a reliable means of travelling to and from the centre, either independently or with consistent support from family, carers, or other support networks 

Be able to engage safely and respectfully within a group learning and working environment 

We value motivation, willingness to learn, and personal commitment more than previous experience. Our programme is designed to support individuals to progress at a pace that works for them while working towards meaningful personal and employment goals.
